ISLAMABAD: United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) developed a project proposal on Agro-Industry Development Programme for Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) targeting fresh fruits, dry fruits, trout fish and dairy sectors. UNIDO’s proposal came after the conclusion of a successful need assessment mission on Tuesday. The anticipated budget for the project would be $3 million for Phase I, which is to be mobilised from the Pakistani government and a few other international donors, including the United Nations funds. Meanwhile, UNIDO contributed $50,000 as seed money to undertake the need assessment study for the formulation of the project proposal.
