SSGC’s subsidiary gets license to sell natural gas, RLNG

The license also enables SSGC-AE to make substantial contributions to the energy sector and the national economy.

Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGC), one of the leading gas utility companies in Pakistan, has announced that its subsidiary, SSGC Alternate Energy (Private) Limited (SSGC-AE), has obtained a license from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to sell natural gas and RLNG to its consumers.

According to a stock filing by the SSGC to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the license was granted in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated by OGRA. This announcement was made on January 24, 2024, as per the regulatory requirements.

This is a significant development for SSGC, as it shows its commitment to expanding its energy portfolio and ensuring a reliable supply of natural gas and RLNG to meet the growing energy demands in the country.

The license also enables SSGC-AE to make substantial contributions to the energy sector and the national economy.

SSGC is a publicly listed company that operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division). It is responsible for the transmission and distribution of natural gas in the southern region of Pakistan, covering the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan.

SSGC-AE is a wholly owned subsidiary of SSGC that was established in 2019 to explore alternative energy sources and solutions.
