Tarbela Hydropower Station gets new Power GM

ISLAMABAD

Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has promoted the Power Chief Engineer of Hydel Power Station Tarbela, Sher Afzal Khan as its general manager, of the same station, with immediate effect.

According to a notification issued by WAPDA, “Sher Afzal Khan, Power Chief Engineer at Hydropower Station, Tarbela is hereby transferred and posted as Power General Manager of Tarbela against a newly created post on acting charge basis with immediate effect and till further orders.”

The notification further states that chief engineer/project director of Tarbela of T-4 extension project will function administratively and technically under Power GM, and process and submit technical and contractual issues, of T-4, to Water member through Sher Afzal Khan.

He joined the water and power sector in 1984, as Mangla junior engineer and then elevated to the post of senior engineer in 1993 and was transferred to the Tarbela Hydro Power Project.

He has also been Ghazi-Barotha Hydropower Power Project director construction, in 2010, and then remained Jabban Hydropower Project Project director, in 2012. In December 2013, he was posted as Tarbela’s Power’s Chief Engineer and remained there until August 9, 2017.
