Crypto exchange Binance briefly suspended user withdrawals on Tuesday following a connectivity issue at an Amazon Web Services (AWS) data center in Tokyo.
The company posted on X that the halt was implemented “to keep safe” and resumed withdrawals approximately 23 minutes later.
According to AWS’s service dashboard, the disruption began at 1:15 a.m. PDT (0815 GMT) and was resolved by 1:51 a.m. PDT (0851 GMT). “The issue has been resolved and the service is operating normally,” an AWS spokesperson confirmed.
Other crypto exchanges were also affected. KuCoin reported “temporary disruptions” and said the outage impacted several services hosted through AWS’s Tokyo region.
