The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has awarded Ernst & Young (EY MENA), a leading global professional services firm, the contract to conduct a thorough valuation of its commercial assets.
According to media reports, the PSL said in a statement that it is undertaking a comprehensive valuation process as part of its commitment to transparency, growth, and sustainability. The valuation will cover all franchises, media rights, live-streaming deals, in-stadia sponsorships, and title sponsorship rights.
EY MENA will engage with key stakeholders, conduct market research, and carry out benchmarking exercises as part of the process. The valuation is scheduled to start later this month and is expected to be completed within five weeks.
The Terms of Reference (TORs) for the valuation were approved by the PSL Governing Council. As part of the process, EY will assess the fair market value of all existing franchises and evaluate the renewal franchise fee as the current agreements near completion.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer highlighted the importance of this valuation, noting that it would bring further transparency to the league’s commercial dealings. The results will be used to guide strategic decisions on the renewal cycle and the potential addition of new teams.
