Pakistan’s embassy in Brazil has highlighted international recognition for a Brazilian innovation that incorporates Pakistan’s Himalayan Pink Salt, which was honored at the Women in Agritech – Global Summit of Women in Agribusiness and Biotechnology held in Belgium from September 24 to 27.
As per reports, the award-winning product, a soap under the Savana Amazonica brand produced in Boa Vista, Roraima, combines Amazonian biodiversity with the mineral-rich pink salt from Pakistan’s Himalayas.
The recognition underscores the potential of cross-border collaborations that merge Pakistan’s natural resources with Brazil’s entrepreneurial innovations.
Minister of Commerce Jam Kamal Khan said the accolade demonstrates Pakistan’s global economic and cultural relevance. “Pakistan’s Himalayan Pink Salt is a natural treasure, symbolizing both our heritage and economic potential. Its presence in an award-winning product in Belgium shows how our resources can meaningfully contribute to global innovation,” he said, adding that the recognition provides opportunities to strengthen trade and partnerships with Brazil and beyond.
Trade and Investment Counsellor at the Embassy of Pakistan in Brazil, Dr. Muhammad Babar Chohan, noted that the achievement highlights how collaborations between Pakistan’s mineral resources and Brazil’s biodiversity can produce world-class products. “The award is a testament to the commercial and diplomatic opportunities in such ventures. Pakistan’s commercial section in Brazil is committed to promoting Himalayan Pink Salt and building sustainable trade bridges,” he said.
The recognition positions Pakistan’s Himalayan Pink Salt as a valuable export resource for health, wellness, and cosmetic products, while demonstrating the potential of international partnerships to drive innovation.
