Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has entered into a cargo cooperation agreement with Garuda Indonesia aimed at improving air freight connectivity for Pakistani exporters and expanding access to key international markets.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the two national carriers have signed a Cargo Special Pro-Rate Agreement to facilitate exports through more streamlined routing and competitive cargo arrangements. The agreement will take effect from January 2026 and remain valid until July 2027.
Under the arrangement, Pakistani export cargo will be routed to Jakarta and other destinations through Jeddah and Kuala Lumpur, allowing exporters to link into Southeast Asian and wider global supply chains.
The agreement also extends cargo access to major commercial centres including Sydney, Melbourne, Singapore, Hong Kong and Bangkok, broadening the reach of Pakistani goods across Asia-Pacific markets.
PIA said the cooperation would also improve connectivity to destinations such as Shanghai, Guangzhou, Seoul and Australia, providing exporters with additional transit options and more predictable cargo services.
