Businessmen should venture with Pakistani business community abroad: Nafees Zakaria

 

 

‘Competition is the biggest challenge CPEC faces. CPEC is not only a corridor but in letter and spirit will prove to be a game changer,’ said Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Nafees Zakaria while speaking at a seminar titled, ‘CPEC – Challenges and Opportunities’ during an Jang-ABAD expo here.

Zakaria congratulated Association of Builders and Developers of Pakistan (ABAD) on holding a vital seminar. ‘CPEC is not my mandate. The project is in its initial phase and there are early harvest projects related mostly to energy that are in process and near completion,’ Zakaria said while stressing the need that Pakistani businessmen should work in close collaboration with the Pakistani community abroad.

‘We have a very affluent, very powerful business community abroad, although they played their part they haven’t played the role they should’ve. Our local businessmen should work with their brothers abroad and that’ll invite businessman and their partners,’ he said. .

He said that his observation is based on based on practical considerations and once the project is completed in 15 years, there will be industrial zones, smart cities all over the country.
