PRA extends date of payments, filing returns till April 30

LAHORE: Amid the coronavirus outbreak and lockdowns, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) on Thursday extended the date of submission of payments and filing of sales tax returns under the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act 2012.

A notification issued by the PRA’s chairman reads, “In exercise of powers conferred under sub section 1 of section 84 of the Punjab Sales Tax on Services Act, 2012, the Punjab Revenue Authority is pleased to extend the due date of payment of Punjab Sales Tax and filing of sales tax returns/withholding statements for the tax period of March 2020 up to 30th April, 2020 for all the registered persons including withholding agents.”

According to an official spokesperson of PRA, the service providers and withholding agents would benefit from this opportunity.
