Imran promises ‘special funds’ to Balochistan for uplift

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has vowed that a special portion will be allocated to Balochistan under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).

Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan called on PM Imran Khan on Thursday and urged the Centre to approve mega projects for the province, besides seeking speedy development on Khuzdar, Quetta and Chaman roads.

They also discussed issues pertaining to an “agriculture package” for farmland owners, construction of dams and power projects.

The meeting also saw consultations over the ongoing projects of the National Highway Authority (NHA) as well projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The premier assured the Balochistan CM of timely completion of the development projects in addition to allocating a special portion in PSDP.

He said that the federal government is focusing on development budget despite the outbreak of coronavirus. “It is our top priority to allocate special funds for the development of Balochistan and make at par with other provinces.
