CM Sindh orders action against tax dodgers

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has said in a meeting on agriculture income tax that a majority of big businesses in the private sector show agriculture income in their tax returns and do not pay any money in the form of taxes to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

He added that as per FBR report, over 500 leading businessmen, traders, industrialists and companies have shown agriculture income in their tax returns. He shared the list with Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon, who is also a senior member of Sindh Board of Revenue. Shah directed him to issue notices to the tax dodgers and collect agriculture income tax from them. Shah further instructed the chief secretary to draft an agriculture tax reform bill so that it could be passed by the provincial assembly.
