ISLAMABAD
The government on Monday appointed a senior officer of Inland Revenue Service, Tariq Pasha, as the Chairman Federal Board of Revenue.
Pasha, a grade 22 officer, was serving as Secretary Economic Affairs Division before his new appointment.
Sources said Pasha has won the approval of Prime Minister for the office of Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). He was also a likely candidate for the post of Secretary Finance after the retirement of Tariq Bajwa but another senior officer Shahid Mehmood was appointed on the said post.
