ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Regulator Authority (OGRA) has forwarded summary to the government for raising prices of petroleum products from five to twenty-four percent for January 2018.
The regulator forwarded the summary to ministry of energy (petroleum division), which would be sent to finance ministry and PM house for final go-ahead, reported an English daily.
Ogra has suggested a price hike of Rs6.03 per litre for high-speed diesel (HSD), a 16 percent rise, Rs13.58 per litre for kerosene, Rs4.06 per litre for petrol and Rs12.49 per litre increase in price of light diesel oil (LDO).
If the regulators proposal is accepted, petrol price will reach Rs81.53 per litre from current Rs77.47 per litre and kerosene prices will rise to Rs71.16 per litre from current Rs57.78 per litre. LDO prices will touch Rs64.61 from current Rs52.12 per litre.
Due to deregulation of high-speed diesel, the rise in Pakistan State Oil’s (PSO’s) weighted average ex-refinery price has been included alongside Inland Freight Equalization Margin (IFEM) for January 2018 prices.
