Weekly inflation falls by 0.41 per cent

ISLAMABAD: Weekly inflation measured by the Sensitivity Price Indicator (SPI) for the week ended August 16, 2018 registered a 0.41 per cent decrease for the combined income group this week, with the index recorded at 228.60 points compared to 228.60 points in the week before that.

Compared to the corresponding period of the previous year, SPI increased by 4.18 per cent on a year on year (YoY) basis. SPI on a YoY basis during the previous week ending on August 09, 2018 had been recorded at 4.38 per cent.

Of the 53 items monitored, the average prices of 18 items registered an increase, while 9 items registered a decrease, and 26 items remained unchanged.

SPI for the lowest income group fell by 0.4 per cent on a weekly basis and 3.44 per cent on a yearly basis.
