RCCI raises concerns over business centre raids

The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has expressed its deep concern over business centres being raided in the city, calling for a halt to the actions by customs officials under the pretext of anti-smuggling actions.

“There is a need to strengthen monitoring system on the borders to prevent smuggling,” said RCCI Acting President Nosherwan Khalil Khan in a statement, adding that that raids on business centres spreads a negative message in the market.

he urged Customs and other relevant departments to first issue a notice to offending traders before initiating action.
