Sindh High Court stays Hum Network’s election of directors

KARACHI: On an appeal filed by a “disqualified candidate”, the Sindh High Court on Friday stayed the Hum Network Limited’s election of directors, which was to be held during an extraordinary general meeting (EOGM) on Saturday (August 22).

“Once we receive the written order dated: 21.08.2020, we will place the said order of the Honorable Sindh Court before the members in the EOGM tomorrow which will be held according to the schedule, except the following agenda of the notice of the EOGM dated 24.07.2020,” said a notice HUMNL sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

It may be noted that the appeal was filed to the Sindh High Court following the HUMNL’s earlier notice to the PSX where the company had stated that it had “disqualified eight of the fifteen applicants that were to contest for the office of directors”.

Seven directors were to be elected during the EOGM for a period of three years commencing from 22 August 2020.
