The Marine Unit of the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement) Karachi successfully intercepted a major attempt to smuggle Iranian-origin High-Speed Diesel (HSD) through the sea route near Hajamoro Creek, Keti Bunder.
In a well-coordinated operation, Customs Enforcement teams seized two wooden vessels, Al-Qambar and Al-Shaeq, which were found to be carrying a total of 31,610 liters of HSD. The seized fuel was valued at approximately Rs. 22 million.
The two vessels, registered as BFD-16211 and BFD-11385, were intercepted as part of a crackdown on illegal fuel trafficking in Pakistan’s coastal waters.Â
This marks the first successful anti-smuggling operation in the Eastern Sector of Keti Bunder in the past ten years, demonstrating the Enforcement Collectorate’s enhanced vigilance and operational capacity.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reaffirmed its commitment to tackling maritime smuggling and ensuring the protection of Pakistan’s economic interests.
