ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has reassured the investors in the construction sector that the government is committed to removing any obstacle in the way of construction projects.
The Prime Minister said this while chairing a meeting of the National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development here on Thursday.
Expressing satisfaction over the keen interest shown by investors, builders and constructors in the Ravi Front Urban Development Project and Bundal Island projects, the Prime Minister said that these two mega projects would pave the way for the investment of billions of rupees and would become milestones in the development of the economy.
Talking about the Ravi Urban Development Project, the Prime Minister said that 90 per cent Pakistani products would be used in the project which would boost the local industry.
In a briefing on Ravi Front Urban Development Project and Bundal Island projects, the meeting was informed that the country’s major investors in the construction sector have expressed keen interest in both projects.
The PM noted that the projects will give rise to a number of economic sectors in Pakistan. He was briefed about the spike in the construction sector businesses and the surge in sales of construction material to which the PM expressed satisfaction. He said the mega projects alone will enable investments and trade to the tune of billions in Pakistan.
These projects will prove to be milestones for the economic prosperity of Pakistan, the PM said. He added that Pakistani expatriates and local investors will be encouraged to invest in such projects. He added that foreign investors will also be able to take this opportunity for themselves.
The PM stressed that RRUDP will employ and consume 90 per cent of locally produced material, adding that the government will clear all the impediments in the construction sector, especially in the two projects, on priority level.
Renowned business tycoons Aqeel Karim Dhedhi, Arif Habib, and Fawad Mukhtar, among others notables especially those from the construction sector, joined the meeting as well. Chairman Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme Zaigham Mahmood Rizvi alongside Governor State Bank Reza Baqir and Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr Muhammad Irshad were also in the meeting.
