IT ministry, Microsoft discuss digital initiatives, avenues for collaboration

ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Information Technology & Telecommunication and Microsoft, the world’s leading software company, have discussed possible investment avenues to establish support centres, cloud infrastructure and training programmes.

Microsoft Country Director for Pakistan Shahzad Khan called on IT Secretary Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui on Friday.

The secretary acknowledged the support extended by Microsoft during Covid-19. He said that collaboration between MoITT and Microsoft will help Pakistan in employment generation.

The Microsoft country director appreciated the initiatives taken by the IT ministry to enhance digital outreach in Pakistan according to the vision of Digital Pakistan.

He also expressed his willingness to collaborate with the Pakistan government on different technological initiatives.

The meeting concluded with a note that further engagements with Microsoft will be made to explore opportunities for mutual collaboration.
