PPL starts oil, gas production from Adhi South-6 well

The well commences production of 600 barrels per day of oil and 0.4 mmscfd of gas

Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), a leading oil and gas exploration and production company, has disclosed the commencement of production from Adhi South-6, a new development well drilled in Adhi Mining Lease.

PPL disclosed to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) in a stock filling that the well was successfully drilled to a depth of 3,490 meters and completed as producer based on encouraging log results.

The well has started producing at the rate of 600 barrels per day (bpd) of oil and 0.4 million standard cubic feet per day (MMscfd) of gas at 32/64″ choke.

Adhi Mining Lease is operated by PPL with 39% working interest along with Joint Venture Partners Oil & Gas Development Company Ltd (OGDCL) and Pakistan Oilfield Ltd (POL) with working interest of 50% and 11% respectively.

The new production from Adhi South-6 is expected to boost the oil and gas output of the country and contribute to the energy security of Pakistan.
