KW&SC approves Master Plan 2050 to improve Karachi’s water system

The board plans to request the Sindh Government to grant KW&SC authority to confiscate properties of individuals involved in water theft

The Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KW&SC) Board of Directors, chaired by Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab, approved the Master Plan 2050 aimed at improving the city’s water supply and drainage systems.

The board meeting, attended by senior officials including Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi and CEO Ahmed Ali Siddiqui, also addressed legal measures to curb water theft. The board plans to request the Sindh Government to grant KW&SC authority to confiscate properties of individuals involved in water theft.

In addition, the meeting approved key appointments to enhance organizational capacity. Muhammad Ammar Khan was named Chief Financial Officer, Jamshed Raza Chief Human Resource Officer, Naveed Afzal Chief Strategy Officer, and Saadat Anwar Chief Information Technology Officer.

Mayor Wahab emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of the Master Plan 2050 to improve water and sewerage services across Karachi.
