Petition filed against govt’s decision to privatize airports

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday has asked for a reply from the federal government regarding a petition challenging the decision of outsourcing three major airports of the country.

A citizen, Mahmood Akhtar Naqvi, filed the petition on grounds that the decision to outsource national airports is illegal and would result in jeopardising national security. He also highlighted out that Civil Association Authority employees were also opposing the decision.

The petitioner appealed to the court to stop the outsourcing of the airports. After hearing the initial arguments, Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh has asked the government to submit a reply within three weeks.
