OGDC discovers new gas reserves in Sukkur

Karachi: In a notification sent to the bourse on Friday, Oil and Gas Development Company (OGDC) announced that it had discovered gas deposits and tested the well for 5.73m MMCFD of gas flow in Sukkur, Sindh.

OGDC notification read that natural gas had been found while exploring in Bhambhara-01 well owned 100pc by Thal exploration licence in Sukkur.

OGDCL Company Secretary, Ahmed Hayat Lak commented that this new discovery of gas in Sukkur would add to the existing hydrocarbon reserves of the country.

At the moment, the govt holds a controlling stake of 74.998pc in OGDC and holds major stakes in the exploration and development of oil and gas reserves in Pakistan.
