USAID-supported expo showcases cutting-edge energy research by Pakistani scholars

ISLAMABAD: The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Director of the Office of Education in Pakistan Dr Christopher Steel, joined senior government officials and private energy sector representatives at the inauguration of the Energy Engineering Expo.

Organised by the USAID-funded US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Energy (USPCASE) at Arizona State University, the one-day exhibition showcased over 40 research projects on renewable energy, thermal energy, electrical energy, and energy policy.

In addition, the US-Pakistan Center for Advanced Studies in Water program which partners with the University of Utah, also showcased its accomplishments over the last three years.

Speaking at the forum, Dr Steel said that he is proud of the USPCASE accomplishments and the partnership developed between universities, industry and government. He said that this initiative is expected to assist the Government of Pakistan in addressing energy challenges of Pakistan and emphasised that the United States is committed to working together with Pakistan to help meet its growing energy needs.
