Mohmand Dam to be completed within five years, Senate told

ISLAMABAD: Mohmand Dam will be completed within five years’ time, as the latest technologies have been applied to the project.

This was informed by Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) Chairman Muzammil Hussain during a briefing to the Senate Standing Committee on Water Resources on Monday.

Briefing the Senate body, he said that the proposed completion time of the project was five years and eight months which would be reduced.

“The dam has a gross capacity of 1.9 million acre-feet (MAF), live capacity 0.67 MAF with power generation potential of 800 megawatts (MW) and annual energy production of 2,862 GWh. However, the dam had a command area of 16,737 acres,” the Senate was informed.
