PM vows to take down all behind flour crisis

Prime Minister Imran Khan has promised that his government will take strict action against those involved in the ongoing flour crisis after he gave a detailed briefing at a meeting held at Bani Gala.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan, said that the meeting reviewed progress on the steps being taken to provide relief to people and identify as well as address the gaps in this process.

According to details, the stakeholders and members of the Punjab government were also present at the meeting and were instructed by the Prime Minister to “take steps on a war footing” to address the factors causing inflation.

The delegation of the provincial government also informed the meeting about the steps that they had taken to counter those responsible for the rapid increase in flour prices. The Punjab government told the meeting that they had fined the people they found culpable in the crisis and had also suspended officials involved in the mess.

The Prime Minister also urged his team to put the needs and comforts of the people they were governing above their own politics, and reminded them that his party’s purpose in coming to power was to help the disadvantaged, and the wheat crisis was tantamount to losing sight of that goal.
