PM reaffirms transparency in utilisation of Covid Relief Fund

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday chaired a meeting of the policy committee overseeing the PM’s Covid Relief Fund.

The PM lauded the generosity of Pakistanis, reaffirming that complete transparency would be ensured for utilisation of donated funds.

The meting was informed that the fund received has so far Rs4.8 billion donations from within Pakistan and overseas. A total of Rs1.08 billion were donated by international donors while Rs3.8 billion were contributed domestically.

Earlier this year, the premier had publicly announced policies with respect to Covid-19 relief, committing that the funds would be disbursed through Ehsaas Emergency Cash to assist Covid-19 job affectees.
