Pakistan, UAE agree to boost agricultural cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the UAE have agreed to enhance cooperation in the agriculture sector.

The understanding was reached at a meeting between Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and UAE’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai on Thursday, said a statement.

During the meeting, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that Pakistan desires to further strengthen its relations with the UAE by enhancing bilateral cooperation in the areas of trade and economy.

He said Pakistani Pavilion in Dubai’s Expo 2020 will truly reflect the historic relations that exist between the two countries, noting that millions of Pakistanis have been diligently playing their role in the development of the UAE over the last many decades.

He also highlighted before the UAE’s prime minister problems faced by Pakistani community in the Emirates.

The foreign minister conveyed warm regards of Prime Minister Imran Khan to Sheikh Mohammed, who is also ruler of Dubai. The UAE premier warmly reciprocated the sentiments.

Qureshi requested Sheikh Mohammed to encourage UAE’s business community to explore investment opportunities in Pakistan.
