Pakistan’s pharmaceutical exports witnessed a significant increase of 29.66% in the first month of the fiscal year 2024-25, compared to the same period last year.Â
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), the country exported pharmaceutical goods worth $33.971 million in July 2024, up from $26.201 million in July 2023.
In terms of quantity, exports also saw a rise of 10.59%, with 7,908 metric tons exported in July 2024, compared to 7,151 metric tons in the previous year.
On a month-on-month basis, pharmaceutical exports increased by 16.63% from $29.128 million in June 2024.
Overall, Pakistan’s merchandise exports grew by 11.77% in July 2024, reaching $2,307 million, up from $2,064 million in July 2023.Â
Imports also saw a rise, increasing by 15.90% to $4,278 million in July 2024, compared to $3,691 million in the same month last year.
