Flyadeal, Saudi Arabia’s low-cost airline, has started scheduled flights to Pakistan, with inaugural arrivals at Islamabad International Airport and Bacha Khan International Airport (BKIAP), Peshawar.
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) said that Flyadeal’s first flight to Peshawar on Monday was welcomed with a cake-cutting ceremony at the International Departure Lounge.
Earlier, on August 24, the airline’s inaugural flight FAD 651/652 landed at Islamabad International Airport, where it received a traditional water salute.
Aftab Gilani, COO of Islamabad International Airport, shared a video of Flyadeal flight landing at the airport and receiving a traditional water salute. He wrote on X, “Welcome to Saudi low cost Airline , Flyadeal at Islamabad International Airport. #FlyAdeal’s A320 neo was given a water salute by the RFF Services of Pakistan Airports Authority at Islamabad Int Airport upon its inaugural arrival flight from Riyadh.”
The aircraft from Riyadh landed in Islamabad ahead of schedule at 06:08am carrying 65 passengers. Its return flight departed at 07:33am with 172 passengers on board.
Flyadeal will operate weekly flights between Riyadh and Islamabad every Sunday.
The PAA said the new services to Islamabad and Peshawar will improve connectivity, offer greater passenger convenience, and strengthen relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
