RAWALPINDI: Sudan offers promising opportunities and Pakistani businessmen should explore the country for direct investments and joint ventures to earn attractive returns.
This was stated by Sudan’s Charge d’Affaires Muhammad Bashir during his visit to the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) on Tuesday. He was accompanied by Trade and Commercial Counsellors Muhammad Nooruddin and Abu Bakr Hussain.
Bashir noted that there were close friendly relations between Pakistan and Sudan, adding that regular exchange of delegations was imperative to strengthen bilateral trade ties.
There were many opportunities of mutual cooperation in agriculture and minerals sectors, he stated.
The envoy appreciated the role of the RCCI in promoting trade and business activities. He also invited the RCCI president to attend the International Trade Fair, Khartoum, which will be held in January 2021.
Speaking on the occasion, RCCI President Nasir Mirza said the chamber was ready to cooperate for the exchange of delegations and to hold bilateral business conferences. “There is a huge opportunity for joint ventures in different sectors mainly agriculture, IT and pharmaceuticals,” he added.
He informed that despite the corona epidemic, the chamber had recently launched a series of webinars to promote trade with African countries.
The envoy was further apprised of the ‘ease of doing business’ regime in Pakistan. “Sudanese investors can take advantage of improving business environment of Pakistan,” the RCCI president stated.
