During the inauguration ceremony, Minister Iqbal emphasised the technological advancements since the establishment of the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the introduction of Pakistan’s first IT policy under Vision 2010.

He highlighted achievements such as the issuance of 3G and 4G licenses and the establishment of several national centers, including those for Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Big Data and Cloud Computing, Automation Robotics, and Satellite and GIS Technology.

Iqbal noted the importance of these centers in providing high-quality human resources, fostering startups, and enhancing scientific and technological skills.

He also introduced four new centers focusing on Nanotechnology, Quantum Computing, New Manufacturing Technologies, and Brand Development, emphasizing the critical role of modern technology in national development.

Minister Iqbal expressed confidence in Pakistan’s potential for progress, stating that with peace, stability, and continuity of policies and reforms, the nation could achieve the same level of development as other countries.

Reflecting on past achievements, Iqbal reminded the audience of successes in overcoming energy shortages, tackling terrorism, and advancing the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). He recalled the significant strides made in 2013, despite challenges, and the notable presence of Chinese experts in Islamabad during that time.
