The Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has distributed Rs6.39 billion among flood-affected families under the Chief Minister Flood Rehabilitation Programme.
According to a briefing to the chief minister, 90 percent of the flood assessment survey — covering data for 569,000 victims — has been completed, with 463,000 cases verified by deputy commissioners to ensure transparency in compensation disbursement.
Authorities said that more than 98,000 ATM cards have been prepared, while 37 camp sites have been set up across 27 flood-affected districts for payment of compensation under the Bank of Punjab. Each victim will receive Rs50,000 in cash and an ATM card.
The distribution of compensation began on October 20 in 13 districts, while the second phase for the remaining districts is set to start on November 3. Each beneficiary can withdraw up to Rs300,000 per day from Punjab Bank ATMs.
Officials informed that 19 campsites have been established in 36 tehsils, with Rs50,000 in cash and ATM cards to be issued to 500 victims at each site. Rehabilitation camps have also been established in Bahawalnagar, Deepalpur, Jhang, Nankana Sahib, Muzaffargarh, Chiniot, Khairpur Tamewali, and other flood-affected areas.
