The country's automobile sector is a hotbed of investment currently

LAHORE: United Auto Industries has outlined plans to start car manufacturing in Pakistan and is the country’s second largest selling brand, an advertisement published in a local newspaper revealed.

The advertisement said the company which is engaged in manufacturing of loaders, scooter, rickshaws and bikes in Pakistan was looking for business partners (dealers) to move forth into automobile manufacturing. It asked interested parties to submit their applications for consideration by December 15th, 2017.

Pakistan’s automobile sector has recently witnessed interest from renowned international players like Renault and Volkswagen.

Profit on Monday reported regarding Renault entering into an exclusive agreement with UAE-based conglomerate Al-Futtaim for assembly and distribution of its vehicles. It was followed by news of Saazgar Engineering also entering into a partnership with an unknown Chinese automobile manufacturer for vehicle assembly.

Earlier in November, Profit also reported about Volkswagen interest in entering the ever-growing Pakistan automobile sector.

The recent reports follow multiple announcements of various carmakers to penetrate the Pakistan automobile industry. Similarly, Lucky Cement had already announced to collaborate with Kia Motors to set up an assembly plant in Pakistan.

United Auto’s came into inception in 1999 and has brought reliable and affordable 4-stroke motorcycles and rickshaws into the Pakistani market.
