ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday said that the present government is committed to protecting rights of traders as the trader community has an important role in the country’s economic progress.
The prime minister expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of Anjuman-e-Tajran Islamabad, which called on him, led by its president Muhammad Ajmal Baloch, here at the PM’s Office.
Minister of State for Capital Administration Division (CAD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and National Assembly Member Malik Abrar Ahmad were also present in the meeting.
The delegation apprised the prime minister of the problems faced by the trader community of Islamabad in general and the issue of rental laws in particular and requested him to help address the problems.
The prime minister assured the trader community of Islamabad of resolving their problems soon. He directed Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry to take steps regarding the legislation to address the problems of traders of Islamabad on a priority basis.
He also directed to remove bottlenecks in the way of resolving other problems faced by trading centres in Islamabad.
