Pakistan’s forex reserves decrease by $628mn in a week

The State Bank disclosed that its reserves decreased due to payments on account of external debt servicing.

LAHORE: According to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at $14,893.2 million on September 28, 2018.

Foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at $8408.50 million, showing a 6.95 per cent decline (or $627.70 million) from the week ended earlier on September 19, 2018, when the reserves held by SBP stood at $9036.20 million.

The net foreign reserves held by commercial banks stood at $6484.70, showing a trivial decline of 0.01 per cent (or 0.60 million) from last week when the amount was recorded at $6485.30 million.

The total liquid foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at $14,893.20 million, showing a decline of 4.05 per cent (or $628.30 million) from last week when the amount was recorded at $15,521.50 million.

The State Bank disclosed that its reserves decreased due to payments on account of external debt servicing.
