PM approves appointment of Shahzad Qasim as his special assistant

ISLAMABAD: Following the approval by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the appointment of Shahzad Qasim as his Special Assistant on the Power Sector, the Cabinet Division on Friday issued a formal notification.

According to the cabinet, Shahzad Qasim has been tasked to work with the power division and task force on energy from Oct 24.

He would develop a plan for resource mobilization to address the circular debt issue; and a plan for optimum funding of a Power Sector Support Fund in the light of international best practices, while keeping in view the political, economic and social fabric of Pakistan.

Shahzad Qasim would execute any other initiative, or implement any other policies, as directed by the prime minister or the federal minister for power, the notification said.
