Govt appoints Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera as commerce secretary

ISLAMABAD: The government has appointed Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera as the new commerce secretary.

As per the available notification, Sardar Ahmed Nawaz Sukhera, a BS-22 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), presently posted as Board of Investment (BOI) secretary, has been transferred and posted as the Commerce Division secretary with immediate effect and until further orders.

Similarly, Rizwan Ahmad, a BS-22 officer of PAS, presently posted as Pakistan National Shipping Cooperation chairman, has been transferred and posted as Maritime Affairs Division secretary.

Meanwhile, Iqbal Hussain Durrani, a Bs-21 of PAS, presently posted as National Health Services additional secretary, has been promoted to BS-22 and posted as National Security Division secretary.

Moreover, the Establishment Division Additional Secretary Capt (r) Nasim Nawaz, upon promotion in BS-22, has been made Establishment Division’s special secretary.

In another notification, Aamir Arshad Khawaja, a BS-22 officer of PAS, presently posted as Maritime Affairs secretary, has been transferred and would report to the Establishment Division.
