Efforts underway to make PIA profitable, says Sardar Mehtab

 

All efforts are underway to make PIA profitable and fulfilling consumers’ expectations, as envisioned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

This was stated by Prime Minister’s Advisor on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan while addressing the airline’s senior management officials and office bearers of PIA associations and CBA the other evening at a local hotel.

He said that the restructuring process has been initiated and all employees will now have to work collectively in bringing back the past glory of the national flag carrier. He thanked the office bearers of PIA associations and CBA for their support in the efforts for the revival of PIA.

According to an internal notification, the directors of the airline have been re-designated as chiefs of their respective divisions. They will now have the following designations: chief operating officer, chief commercial officer, chief technical officer, chief financial officer, chief human resources officer, chief corporate development officer, chief information officer while the general manager of safety & quality assurance and general manager procurement, will look after their respective divisions reporting directly to chief executive officer of the airline.

In order to make PIA a profitable entity, restructuring of human resource has been initiated after the approval of PIACL board of directors.
