NFC Awards: FATA deserves fair share

President Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum (PBIF), AKIA president, FPCCI senior vice chairman of the businessmen panel and former provincial minister Mian Zahid Hussain on Friday said that FATA deserves a fair share of the NFC award.

Fata is receiving Rs 21 billion in annual development allocation which is less than required resulting in poverty, restlessness and dismal economic activity, he said.

Mian Zahid Hussain said that FATA continue to suffer losses to the tune of billions of rupees due to war on terror which has devastated its economy, therefore it should be included in the National Finance Commission Award.

He said that people of the area continue to share the burden of GST, Customs Duty and Federal Excise Duty which makes up to an annual allocation of 90 billion rupees annually.
