Facebook picks Yayvo.com as ecommerce success story

KARACHI

With the importance and penetration of online shopping forums increasing day by day in the Pakistani consumer market, it is no surprise that the world is taking notice.

With global giants like Alibaba and Rocket Internet looking at the Pakistani market, the presence of a domestic company being noticed and highlighted as a success story is rare indeed. That was the case when Facebook, the world’s largest online social networking service, picked Yayvo.com as a Business Success Story for its well thought out marketing policy focused on the female audience.

Thriving since its launch just a couple of years ago, Yayvo.com has become a force to be reckoned with but has long faced obstacles in capturing women shoppers. Even the hugely successful, PKR 200 Million Black Friday ended for as a male dominated affair. With women constituting over 48pc of Pakistan’s population, Yayvo.com came up with an innovative marketing strategy to drive up sales on the Women’s Corner, using targeted Facebook advertisements prior to the launch of leading clothing brands.

Pakistani e-commerce store Yavyo.com’s Head of Marketing, Syed Waqas Pervez said, “Facebook has played a key role in our strategy to acquire female fashion shoppers, which is a challenging segment, but has great potential. By using Facebook lead ads, we substantially grew our prospects in this segment before the actual campaign even started.”
