After an article was published in a national daily which argued that dwindling stocks suggest Petrol might be scarce in the future, PSO issued a response in which it stated there will be no shortage of fuel in the country.
In a statement issued, it said: “The company has sufficient quantities of fuel and our depots are working round the clock to ensure an uninterrupted supply of products throughout the country.”
The statement further said: “The company is continuing to manage its imports and refinery purchases smoothly. 170,000 metric-tons of petroleum product imports are in the pipeline with majority of this quantity will be available in only next few days. We would therefore like to assure our customers that there will be no shortage of fuel at PSO outlets.”
PSO also said that it was supplying more than its market sure to ensure uninterrupted supply of petroleum products all across Pakistan. Even though it faces liquidity issues, PSO said that it was engaging with the Ministry of Energy, Ministry of Finance, PIA and SNGPL for release of funds.
