POL production dips 8.3pc in FY19

ISLAMABAD: The overall production of petroleum commodities witnessed a decrease of 8.35pc during the fiscal year 2018-19, as compared to the corresponding period of 2017-18.

The POL products that showed negative growth during FY19 included jet fuel oil, the production of which decreased by 9.54pc during the period under review, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics reported.

Similarly, the production of kerosene oil, high-speed diesel, furnace oil, jute batching oil and solvent naptha also decreased by 1.14pc, 9.84pc, 11.92pc, 14.48pc and 26.90pc respectively.

However, the production of motor spirit oil increased by 3.22pc, diesel oil by 16.65pc, lubricating oil by 9.78pc and liquefied petroleum gas by 17.23pc.

On a year-on-year basis, the production of petroleum products decreased by 21.74pc in June 2019, as compared to the output of June 2018.

During the month under review, the production of jet fuel oil decreased by 5.4pc, kerosene oil by 2.93pc, motor spirits by 23.30pc, high-speed diesel by 29.12pc and diesel oil by 33.28pc.

Moreover, the production of furnace oil dipped by 10.96pc, lubricating oil by 15.24pc, jute batching oil by 74.19pc, solvent naphtha by 11.31pc and LPG by 6.21pc.
