Motorbike, three-wheeler sales drop 23.11pc in FY20

Honda’s motorbike sales dropped 21.62pc while Suzuki reported a decrease of 25.91pc

ISLAMABAD: The sales of motorbikes and three-wheelers decreased by 23.11 per cent during FY20 compared to FY19.

According to data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA), during July 2019 to June 2020, 1,370,005 motorbikes and three-wheelers were sold compared to the sale of 1,781,959 units during July 2018 to June 2019.

Sales of Honda motorbikes reduced by 21.62 per cent to 873,902 units in FY20 from 1,114,956 units in FY19, while sales of Suzuki motorbikes decreased by 25.91 per cent to 17,301 units in FY20 from 23,352 units in FY19.

Similarly, sales of Yamaha motorbikes decreased by 17.95 per cent to 19,371 units in FY20 from 23,610 units in the previous year.

Sales of Ravi motorbikes reduced by a whopping 54.35 per cent to 12,380 units in FY20 from 27,125 units in FY19.

Sales of United Auto motorbikes decreased by 18.96 per cent to 295,459 units in FY20 from 364,614 units in the preceding year.

Sales of Road Prince motorcycles decreased by 32.4 per cent to 108,990 units in FY20 from 161,231 units in FY19.

Meanwhile, sales of Road Prince three-wheelers witnessed a decrease of 16.33 percent to 10,320 units in FY20 from 12,335 units FY19 while sales of Sazgar three-wheelers decreased by 22.53 per cent to 12,274 units in FY20 from 15,845 units in the previous year.

Furthermore, sales of Qingqi three-wheelers decreased by 45.5 per cent, to 12.893 units in FY20 from 23,661 units in FY19 whereas sales of United Auto’s three-wheelers dropped by 47.72 per cent from to 6,098 units in FY20 from 11,666 units during the previous year.
