Strengthening rupee pushes Kia vehicles prices down

Sorento lineup sees a significant Rs500,000 reduction but not for monthly installment buyers, Sportage FWD and Sportage AWD prices trimmed by Rs150,000

Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC), the assembler of Kia vehicles, announced a reduction in the prices of several models, ranging from Rs100,000 to Rs500,000, as a result of the recent strengthening of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar.

The price adjustments include substantial reductions in the Sportage FWD and Sportage AWD variants, both now available at Rs8.040 million and Rs8.77 million, respectively, reflecting a Rs150,000 decrease in their ex-factory prices. Additionally, the Sportage Black Limited Edition’s price has been reduced by Rs350,000 making it available at an ex-factory price of Rs9.3 million.

The Picanto AT variant has also witnessed a price decrease of Rs100,000 with its new ex-factory price set at Rs3.85 million, while the manual transmission variant remains unaffected by the changes.

For the Sorento lineup, which includes the 2.4L FWD, 2.4L AWD, and 3.5L FWD variants, each now comes with a Rs0.5 million reduction in the full payment price. These models are now priced at Rs10.300 million, Rs11.200 million, and Rs11.290 million, respectively.

However, it’s important to note that some Sorento variants will maintain their previous prices for customers who opt for monthly installment payments. Sorento 2.4L FWD, Sorento 2.4L AWD, and Sorento 3.5L FWD will be available at Rs10.8 million, Rs11.7 million, and Rs11.79 million, respectively, with an additional Rs500,000 charge for those who choose this payment method.

There will be no price adjustment for other variants of Kia, such as the Carnival, which is imported as a completely built unit (CBU), and the Stonic.

The price reductions announced by Lucky Motor Corporation are attributed to the recent appreciation of the Pakistani currency against the US dollar, which has demonstrated its strength over the past two consecutive weeks.
