ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a reduction in liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) prices for June 2025, reflecting a global decline in oil prices.
OGRA has cut the price of a domestic LPG cylinder by Rs55 to Rs2,838, down from Rs2,893. The price of a commercial cylinder has been reduced by Rs210 to Rs10,920 from Rs11,130.
The production price for LPG has dropped by Rs3,921 per metric ton, bringing the new rate to Rs241 per kilogram, compared to Rs245 per kilogram previously.
The LPG producer price is linked to the Saudi Aramco contract price (CP) and the US dollar exchange rate. In June, Saudi Aramco CP fell by 2.67 percent, while the average dollar exchange rate increased slightly by 0.35 percent.
These changes have led to a net decrease of Rs54.60 for an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder, a reduction of 1.88 percent. This translates to a Rs4.62 per kilogram decrease in consumer prices.
The price adjustment aims to pass on the benefits of lower global oil prices to consumers and commercial users in Pakistan.
