Nike delays launch of women’s brand with Kim Kardashian’s Skims

Both sides are taking more time to finalize the product, a Nike spokesperson says

Nike has delayed the launch of its new women’s activewear brand in the U.S., developed in partnership with Skims, the shapewear company owned by Kim Kardashian.

A Nike spokesperson said both sides are taking more time to finalize the product.

The collaboration, first announced in February, is part of a broader effort under new CEO Elliott Hill to expand Nike’s product offerings and recover from recent struggles in the market. The brand, called NikeSKIMS, is expected to feature training apparel, footwear, and accessories for women.

The initial plan was to launch the first collection at selected U.S. retail locations and on Nike’s website in spring 2024, with wider availability planned for 2026. The delay was first reported by Bloomberg.

Skims, launched in 2019, has built a strong following for its line of bras, shapewear, and loungewear. Nike’s partnership with the brand is aimed at helping the company strengthen its position in the women’s activewear segment, where competitors like Lululemon, On, and Athleta have gained market share.
