PIA flight to Toronto delayed due to engine oil leak

Over 300 passengers stranded as technical fault discovered after aircraft's arrival in Lahore

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore to Toronto was delayed on Thursday morning due to a technical fault caused by an oil leak from the aircraft’s engine, causing significant inconvenience to passengers.

As per reports, the same aircraft, carrying over 300 passengers, had arrived in Lahore from Toronto on Wednesday at approximately 3:30 pm. It was scheduled to depart for Toronto at 4 am on Thursday with another set of 300 passengers.

The issue was first detected during a post-landing inspection by ground engineers, who discovered the oil leak. Despite efforts to resolve the problem, the fault could not be fixed before the flight’s scheduled departure time.

PIA sources confirmed that a special engineering team from Karachi was being dispatched to Lahore to address the issue.

A PIA spokesperson said, “The technical issue is being addressed. As soon as the repair work is completed, the aircraft will be cleared for departure,” adding that engineers in Lahore are working on removing the fault.

The aircraft had recently undergone repairs to be ready for international flights to Toronto. The delay has caused disruptions, with passengers awaiting further updates on their rescheduled departure.
