Pakistan, Finland explore trade and investment cooperation in 6th political consultations

Discussions cover education, science, technology, and climate; next round to be held in Finland

Pakistan and Finland held the 6th round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) here on Tuesday, reviewing the full spectrum of their bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, investment, education, science and technology, and climate change.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Additional Secretary Europe Muhammad Khalid Jamali, while the Finnish side was headed by Under-Secretary of State for Foreign and Security Policy Outi Holopainen.

According to a Foreign Office press release, both sides also exchanged views on global and regional issues of mutual interest. Jamali highlighted the positive momentum in Pakistan-Finland ties and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening cooperation.

The Pakistani official expressed appreciation for Finland’s support on Pakistan’s GSP Plus status and extended an invitation to Finnish companies to participate in the upcoming Pakistan-EU Business Forum scheduled for April 2026.

It was agreed that the next round of consultations would be hosted in Finland.
