PSL franchises complete players’ retentions

Karachi Kings retains Babar Azam

LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises on Saturday released their players’ lists after completing retentions for the upcoming edition of the league, starting from February 20.

According to details, Karachi Kings and Islamabad United retained national team captain Babar Azam and vice-captain Shadab Khan respectively. Lahore Qalandars retained Fakhar Zaman and named the opening batsman as its brand ambassador.

On the other hand, defending champions Karachi Kings and Islamabad United completed the successful trade of Englishman Alex Hales and South African Colin Ingram.

“As per the event rules, five sides have consumed their allocation of retaining up to eight players except Peshawar Zalmi, which have retained only five players,” said the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a press release.

Lahore Qalandars: Ben Dunk (gold); David Wiese (diamond); Dilbar Hussain (gold); Fakhar Zaman (diamond); Haris Rauf (diamond); Mohammad Hafeez (platinum); Shaheen Shah Afridi (platinum) and Sohail Akhtar (silver).

Karachi Kings: Amir Yamin (gold); Arshad Iqbal (emerging); Babar Azam (platinum); Colin Ingram (platinum); Imad Wasim (diamond); Mohammad Amir (platinum); Sharjeel Khan (gold) and Waqas Maqsood (silver).

Multan Sultans: Shahid Afridi (platinum), Imran Tahir (diamond); James Vince (gold); Khushdil Shah (diamond); Rilee Rossouw (platinum); Shan Masood (gold); Sohail Tanvir (diamond); Usman Qadir (gold).

Peshawar Zalmi: Haider Ali (gold); Kamran Akmal (diamond); Liam Livingstone (gold); Shoaib Malik (platinum) and Wahab Riaz (platinum).

Quetta Gladiators: Anwar Ali (silver); Azam Khan (gold); Ben Cutting (diamond); Mohammad Hasnain (diamond); Mohammad Nawaz (diamond); Naseem Shah (gold); Sarfaraz Ahmed (platinum) and Zahid Mahmood (silver).
